2C Tech Corporation’s Ramgopal Rao Presents Vision Preserving Technology at 5th Annual OCTANe

– IRVINE, CA, October 25--- 2C Tech Corporation, Inc., was selected to present at OCTANe Medical Device & Investment Forum, one of the West's leading medical device industry events. Ramgopal Rao, its Chief Executive Officer, will be presenting. 2C Tech's patent pending SeeQ Technology offers future treatment hope to millions around the globe who suffer from blinding diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinitis pigmentosa. Existing drugs address only a small fraction of this market and available devices are invasive, costly and require surgery.
Founder Jeffrey Olson, M.D., Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, and retinal surgeon at the University of Colorado and cofounder Naresh Mandava, M.D., Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado have been developing the SeeQ technology for the past five years.
"Vision loss is one of the most feared disabilities. Sadly, each day brings a further diminution of vision to millions of people around the world," explains 2C Tech's Chief Executive Office Ramgopal Rao. "With 2C Technology, we can envision hope for treating blinding diseases and preserving vision in a cost effective manner within years. We are honored at the opportunity to present our SeeQ Technology before the more than 600 industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors who are expected at this year's OCTAne event." Rao is a successful serial entrepreneur with 20 plus years of medical device and pharmaceutical experience. He is the founder of Acufocus and Tomey Technology.
Preservation of the eye's physiology and stabilization of functional vision is the overwhelming clinical need in the absence of effective pharmaceutical therapies. It is well documented that electrical stimulation of retinal photoreceptor cells preserves the cells. Preclinical data indicates that the injected SeeQ Technology nanoparticles show efficacy in photoreceptor cell preservation. The SeeQ nanoparticles are similar to a conventional solar cell but on a sub-cellular scale. The SeeQ nanoparticles self-direct themselves to the target photoreceptor cells in the retina and preserve them from degeneration through continuous electrical stimulation. Administration of the SeeQ particles is a simple periodic injection.
About 2C Tech Corporation, Inc.
The SeeQ technology from 2C TECH is an innovative, breakthrough biotechnology solution for blinding retinal diseases, a large unmet ophthalmic market need. 2C Tech's SeeQ nanoparticles provide several advantages: they require no external power source and produce electricity in a manner similar to a silicon solar cell and the technology incorporates a guidance system (a targeting protein) that directs them to the compromised cells in the retina. 2C Tech offers great hope of preserving vision to the ever-increasing numbers of the world's aging populations who are facing diminished or lost sight.
